New free song called "Down Came The Walls" about the May 12 2008 Wenchuan China earthquake

I have no talent and once got drunk. They say you get famous after you die so I guess i better adjust my will. I have no electric guitar and not much of anything really to work with, so i record it in my room with my bare hands, acoustic strings and Chinese tea...oh yea and a digital recording machine.

If you want the song you can download from this blog or Click on one of these 2 internet site links, and the lyrics for "Down Came The Walls are below: iLike

DOWN CAME THE WALLS
Copyright by Christopher Mark Kohler
October 2008
Verse 1a
escaping class Qiáo Péng and Líu Bō
passin plastic meal tickets, to lunch they go
sweating over tension of basketball
Oblivious of the bull fight under toe
Verse 1b
chatting in the hall with that mentor they love
dài wĕi zhōng righteous math teacher of Bō
Zhōng knew none of what was next to unfold
he’ll forever rest in class, she says “my hero!”

Verse 2a
Down came the walls of the valleys and the rooms
Beichuan and many towns blew to the sky in bloom
All alone they stared Mother Nature in the eyes
From the basketball hoop they heard many people die
Verse 2b
Grade 3, 4 and more children squished beneath
Today’s heroes saw hard studied brains set free
Papers flutter like spirits of pretty birds and bees
Blue river turning red with pity’d words it greets

Verse 3a
later a lady crosses 2 mountain peaks yo
Tear drops steam over hot cheeks so gold
Inside boils pain of a rich life gone
Government job, home, daughter and grandson
Verse 3b
This lady’s house still 2 babies inside
buried under half a mountain mud slide
crying on the mountain spattered by rain
Hiking through panda land a new life to claim

Verse 4a
Sharon (Stone) says this is China’s fate
Is she really your friend Mr. Dālà Lămá
Seems she’s on crack from another planet
No gods here and China’s got plenty of strength
Verse 4b
Star King’s fantasy farm mid-slope
Grandma thanks Buddha for her sturdy log home
Flipped in her bed like stir fried rice
She still gazes and leans on her bamboo pole

BRIDGE
Rock horns locked black
locked blocks no fault no blame
flames claim, rains drain
wind earth water fire n pain

Time releases only stories
in tents on fields thousands wiery
ear to ground hear earth crack
again and again every day the with a snap
All summer of 2008 it didn’t slack
like a bouncing basketball inside our planet
Daily earthquakes came right back
ān1xiàn to dūjāingyàn, qīngchuān to miányáng,

4 months later still over Richter 6
In fall with heavy rain red mud still rips
Receiving more spirits is the river calm
this inner mountain melancholy never ends

CHORUS
Up and down pounds the basketball
2:28 ground planet unlocks
Up and down slams earth and all
down come the walls, ai-yo down come the walls!
down come the walls, ai-yo down come the walls!
